Sister Catherine McAuley Living Mission Award

An image of Sr. Catherine McAuley, founder of the Sisters of Mercy. Founded in 1831 to teach and care for the sick, poor, and needy in Ireland, her devotion to her mission quickly spread to England and eventually found its way to the United States. Today, the Sisters sponsor more than 100 health care facilities, colleges, and numerous secondary and elementary schools in the U.S., continuing their commitment to comfort the sick and the poor, work for justice, and respond to the needs of local communities.

In the spirit of the foundress of the Sisters of Mercy and THSC’s legacy of heartfelt hospitality and holistic, compassionate care, this award is presented to the colleague who most demonstrates and embodies our Core Values and our Mission as “a compassionate transforming healing presence” for both residents and fellow colleagues.

Any active THSC colleague (full-time, part-time, or contingent) who has been employed with THSC for 12 months or more and is in good standing (no behavior/policy/attendance violations beyond a written warning) is eligible for nomination.
